Since 2024, we’ve had the privilege of operating the community aspects of the Rivergate Centre in partnership with Barking Riverside Limited - a primary community and multi-faith space for the neighbourhood. We host it with togetherness and transparency. Two key projects are emerging here: the Community Lounge, becoming a space for everyone through the day (pre-schoolers in the morning, youth after school, adults in the evening); and the Soul Space.

At the heart of the Rivergate, the Soul Space is a place for prayer, reflection, healing and discipleship - hosted by Christians on behalf of everyone. From here flow daily prayer rhythms and discipleship, with a look to growing into mentoring, talking therapy and chaplaincy, reaching across the community centre and into George Carey Church of England Primary School.

We want to see young people transformed, stepping into their full potential, and leading London. Working with JDS, Seize Life, St Erkenwald’s, Christ Church, Barking Sports 4 Change and others, we create spaces for mentoring, business skills, wellbeing, discipleship, prayer, a podcast and more.

Families come in all shapes and sizes, with all kinds of challenges and gifts. Working with local churches, Kindred Mums, our Rivergate Volunteers, Creative Wellness, LBBD services and others, we create spaces for families to connect, find friends, find help and grow - with a particular focus on employment, health and SEND.

What we do in Barking Riverside is one expression of our vision - not a model to copy, but an example to improvise on. We want to give away whatever we have. So, we offer support to other individuals, churches and organisations: help with set-up, fundraising, processes, policies, training and resources.
